Updates to Our Online Google Education Courses

We’ve had a busy period over the holiday season working on our online course portal ‘AppsEvents Courses’ and building it up to be the premier resource for practical training on Google tools in Education.

Our AppsEvents Certified Admin qualification is being updated weekly to reflect the regular changes in the control panel and is the best way to get beginners up to the level of being ‘let loose’ on a live domain to perform the most common admin tasks. This is a great course not only for IT staff but also for teachers looking to get involved in admin tasks and to show employers they understand Google Apps Admin. (See our post on Google and the democratization of IT departments). We have had a lot of requests for our advanced ‘Level 2’ Admin certification which we are launching soon and if you are interested in this please fill out this form and we will notify you shortly as soon as we agree our first cohort.

This course is also being offered in ‘Live in person‘ format at upcoming AppsEvents in Zurich and California and also for the first time at the Deep Learning Conference in Bangkok MArch 21st (taught by admin expert +Sean Thompson)

Our original course and still hugely popular Google Classroom 102 from +Allison Mollica has been completely updated and extended to teach all the new Classroom features. This is THE resource to get you and your teachers up to speed on Classroom and covers all functionality from beginner to advanced.

Our first iPad course from +Richard Poth Google Drive on the iPad is now live and is the go-to resource on how to use Google Apps on the iPad in K-12. Richard is truly an iPad education guru and stay tuned for more iPad courses soon from Richard.

For a limited time our Chrome course from +Nathan Kellogg takes is available with both the ‘Beginner’ and ‘Advanced’ courses combined….The course takes users of any level up to become Chrome ‘ninjas’.

Our Google Forms Beginner course from Forms expert +Ben Rouse is a fantastic resource to get users going with the many applications of forms in the classroom. The ‘Intermediate’ and ‘Advanced’ courses are coming soon to the portal.

Finally we also added a short free course on Becoming a Google Education Trainer from +Dan Taylor, which helps navigate educators through the process to become certified as well as giving some exam tips to get through them first time.

Coming very soon: More AppsEvents certification courses, iPad courses, Map Engine lite, Google Apps in Education for beginners and Google Sites. Remember once you have purchased a course you can go back and take it again as many times as you like to see the latest updates in functionality.

We are also launching a low cost ‘Subscription’ model for the course portal so Schools and Districts can gain 1 year access to all our courses and certifications for all staff. Please contact us at payments@appsevents.com
