Edit images right in Google Slides and Drawings

Google Slides and Drawings make it easy for you to tell a story and share your ideas. And a big part of storytelling is the images you use to bring a concept to life. Now it’s even easier to get those images just right, because Slides will let you crop, apply shape masks, and add borders to your images right within your presentation.

Google Apps Admins Can Set Default State For Google+ Profile Discoverability

Google announced that Google Apps admins can now set the default state for profile discoverability in their domain through a control in the admin console if they have enabled Premium Features. It is checked by default, making profiles discoverable in public web searches.

Way of a Warrant

Requests for user information from governments around the world are up 120 percent since 2009: http://goo.gl/11v9LP. Often these requests come in the form of a warrant from a government agency in the U.S.—here’s a video showing how we protect users’ information from excessive requests, while also following the law.

“Here’s a question. How do I avoid this, if possible, and what do others do in this situation…or is this the following example a feature request for Google to ponder?…… Situation: I’ve created a folder I share with my students, giving them the ability to edit; however, I have found that students have been accidentally moving items out of the folder (and into their own drive) making life annoying for others who needed to access this file and who don’t see the file anymore because someone moved it out. Is there a way, or should there be, to allow students to edit documents, but LOCK the file from moving?
